Prior to joining Wagner, McLaughlin & Whittemore, Matt attended Stetson University College of Law, where he pursued his law degree and M.B.A. concurrently. Matt joined the firm after graduating with honors in 2023.
Though a young attorney, he joins the firm with more courtroom experience than most new lawyers, and is already demonstrating the type of forceful and insightful client advocacy so characteristic of the Wagner, McLaughlin & Whittemore brand.
During law school, Matt developed a strong passion for advocacy in the courtroom and received the Victor O. Wehle Award for exhibiting excellence in trial advocacy.
He also served as a Certified Legal Intern with the Hillsborough County State Attorney’s Office, gaining invaluable courtroom experience advocating for victim’s rights and trying misdemeanor crimes in front of a jury.
Additionally, Matt gained experience working for civil litigation firms on both sides of the aisle and served as a Judicial Intern in the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit in Hillsborough County.
His experience inside and outside the classroom and the mentorship he received along the way has inspired Matt to dedicate himself to advocating exclusively for injury victims.
Before law school, Matt graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Fort Lauderdale, where he co-founded and captained the varsity rugby team. He then went on to earn his Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of South Florida.
He has since called the Tampa Bay area his home and currently lives in St. Petersburg.
