Denise E. Vaughan

Denise Vaughan received a B.S. in journalism from the University of Florida in 1984 and graduated in 1987 from the University of Florida College of Law.

After being admitted to The Florida Bar in 1988, Denise began her career as a defense lawyer, representing insurance companies and their insureds. Denise spent four years with an insurance defense firm, during which time she was lead counsel in more than a dozen jury trials.

Denise joined her father, Roger Vaughan, at Wagner, Vaughan & McLaughlin in 1992. Having practiced on the defense side of personal injury and wrongful death gives Denise an invaluable perspective and distinct edge in representing her plaintiff-clients.

In addition to her contingency-fee clients, Denise handles cases for injured people whose income qualifies them for Bay Area Legal Services, a non-profit public interest law firm that provides free civil legal services to low-income families throughout the Bay Area. Denise also volunteers as a guardian ad litem attorney on behalf of abused and neglected children.

Because of her experience, Denise is frequently asked to speak on personal injury claims at legal seminars.

Denise considers her greatest accomplishments to be her two children: son Matthew, born in 1992, and daughter Caroline, born in 1994. Her time outside of the office is spent enjoying her children with her husband, Matt Alexander.
